Zhao Zhang, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor at Beihang University. He received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His research interests include data mining, large language models (LLMs), knowledge graphs, and recommender systems, with a particular focus on the representation and application of knowledge.
He has published over 60 papers in leading conferences and journals within his field, including KDD, SIGIR, IEEE TKDE, and ACM TOIS, and holds more than 10 authorized national invention patents. As a Principal Investigator (PI), he has led numerous projects, including those funded by the National Pre-research Foundation, sub-projects of the National Key R&D Program of China, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, the CCF-Alibaba Research Fund, and the Tencent Rhino-Bird Research Fund.
Dr. Zhang serves as a Standing Committee Member and Deputy Secretary-General of the Technical Committee on Large Models and Decision Intelligence of the Chinese Institute of Command and Control (CICC). He is also a Preparatory Youth Editorial Board Member for the journal Frontiers of Computer Science (FCS), a (Senior) Program Committee Member for prominent conferences and journals such as KDD and IEEE TKDE, and an Area Chair for ACL, AAAI, and ACM Multimedia.
He was selected as a member of the Youth Innovation Promotion Association, Chinese Academy of Sciences. His prestigious accolades include the First Prize of the 2025 CICC Technology Invention Award, the Best Short Paper Award at CIKM 2023 (First Author), the Best Student Paper Award at DASFAA 2022, the Excellence Award of the Tencent Rhino-Bird Research Program, the Outstanding Mentor Award of the Rhino-Bird Elite Training Program, and the Outstanding Researcher Award at Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Furthermore, his research achievements have been successfully deployed and applied in top tech companies such as Tencent and Kuaishou, earning formal certificates of application.
